Softmod Any Wii Guide now on Hacksden

Hacksden is happy to announce that the Softmod Any Wii Guide by mauifrog has been published on our site. This is the most thorough Wii softmod guide I know of and comes highly recommended by hacksden staff and members.  The guide features softmod methods for all Wiis and advanced brick protection for those of you who like to get into not so fortunate situations.

What’s needed?

1. Any Wii – Old, New, Any System Menu, Any Color, Any Region

2. 2GB Scandisk or Similar SD card

3.  SD Card Reader/Writer

4. Game Disc or Bannerbomb Exploit (depends on your system menu)

5. Ability to follow directions

Guide Summary

Chapter 1-Installing The HomeBrew Channel and Bootmii – This chapter covers installing the Homebrew Channel using the correct exploit for your system menu and making a backup of your NAND with Bootmii.

Chapter 2- Hacking Your Wii – In this chapter you will install 25 wad files that will enable your Wii to play most games from USB, virtual console games, homebrew games, backup game discs, and much more.  In addition to the wads you will install an important brick protection tool called Priiloader. Priiloader is a menu you can access in the case your system menu is inaccessible in order to recover you Wii from a bricked state.

Chapter 3- The Final Step – the final step to your softmod is actually using it so the pack in chapter 3 contains most of the Apps you’re going to need to get started.
